Sugru Your Penknife
The handles had cracked off these penknives – in one case due to abuse, in the other due to poor build quality – so I Hacked Them Better.
Each side of each knife required one 5g packet, so four in total.
The bottom one’s green (I’d just got back from the Scottish Green Party conference, and was feeling enthusiastic), and the top one’s a mixture of green and blue.
Green and black would probably have been better.
Drying both sides at once had me scratching my head, but I solved the problem with the top of a cocktail shaker.
I impressed my initials into the uncured Sugru with a penknife blade – what else?

Sugru Your Fiskars Utility Knife
Amore straightforward ergonomics-hack…
these little Fiskars utility knives are supposedly designed to be ergonomic but is actually really painful where the handle tips dig in to your flesh if you apply pressure when making a cut!
The sugru makes the contact softer, and also helps spread the pressure out over a larger area of finger, which decreases the discomfort remarkably!

Sugru Your Knitting Bowl
A little bit of a niche appeal but it REALLY improved my yarn bowl…These are meant for keeping your yarn clean and contained while knitting, and they are beautiful handmade products but this one’s slot was too big and the yarn escaped too easily.
The sugru made it a lot more useful, now that the yarn stays in the orifice!

Sugru Your Skateboard
Chris recently used SUGRU to make a nifty protective bumper for the nose and tail of his longboard.
Firstly, He shaped the putty into a sausage about the same size as the area which needed protecting of the nose/tail of his board.
He then wrapped the end of his finger in cling-film in order to not leave any fingerprints and thus acheive a smoother finish.
It was a really simple process and took less than10 mins to apply to both the nose and tail.
After 24 hours of curing he achieved a neat and smooth finish with the product forming a strong bond to the board.
He bounced it against the floor and felt the blows being softened by the nice layer of silicone thank goodness…it stayed intact too.
All this is great news as He’d grown tired of having to endlessly re-glue the bits of rubber he had previously use to protect his boards.
Thanks for making such awesome product!
